The Lint Mill was in operation from 1700 to 1850 and the print is from a painting by W L Leitch who was an apprentice artist at the Mauchline Box Works. He later became an art tutor in painting to Queen Victoria.

Another great view of how New Road
used to look

The Coronation New Testament was given
to all at Mauchline school in 1937 to celebrate the
Coronation of George V1

This photo was kindly sent to me by Jeannie McPherson.
In the photo is Jeannies Grandmother who is holding her father,
Mungo Hood. The little barrow in the photo was made at Mauchline
box works. The shop is now occupied by "Many Thanks" at the cross.

This was also sent by Jeannie. It's an artists impression of
Wilson Place, Barskimming Road. It was demolished
round about the 1930's

An old photo of Poosie Nancies sent to me by Anne Molloy-Vickers
